The influence of an inclined line source close to building facades with balconies
The in?uence of inclined roads on the acoustical performance of building facades with balconies close to roadways is investigated. Various inclined angles and a building facades with 1 m balconies were modeled on eight-?oors building. Pyramid ray-tracing simulations and scale model
measurements were carried out. The predicted and measured A-weighted sound level reductions over the balcony back wall and in free ?eld conditions are compared and the results used to predict the protection obtained by various inclined roads. The reduction in A-weighted levels ranged between
0.5 and 4 dB.
