CFD modeling of design impacts on aerodynamic, acoustic and thermal performance of noise control solutions for air-cooled chillers
Noise control solutions for air-cooled chillers must balance acoustic performance with aerodynamic efficiency and thermal performance. This study uses Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to assess the broader design impacts of integrating various sound attenuation configurations into
chiller systems. By modeling airflow patterns, pressure drops, and temperature distributions, we explore how noise control strategies influence cooling efficiency, energy performance, and overall system operation. While these factors are inherently complex, our analysis sets the stage for
future comparative evaluations by providing insights into how attenuation design choices affect airflow dynamics and thermal behavior. The findings support a more integrated approach to HVAC noise control, ensuring that acoustic solutions align with system performance requirements.
