Psychoacoustic analysis of squeaking and rattling noises inside vehicle cabins
Annoyance of vehicle passengers due to squeaking and rattling noises is investigated. The investigation was carried out in the following steps: measurements, physical analysis of the measurement results and a jury test. The jury was made of 60 people with normal hearing. The participants
were exposed to different noise signals generated by different sources. Two psychoacoustic parameters were evaluated by the jury test: annoyance and pleasantness, both for squeaking and rattling noises. Psychoacoustic indices depending on loudness and sharpness metrics were found by a regressive
analysis.
