
A multi-resolution SEA methodology for efficient modeling of large industrial spaces
Acoustic modeling of large industrials spaces poses quite a few challenges. There are often a substantial amount of sources to characterize, leading to a significant effort to create the model. The combination of a large amount of sources along with extremely large volumes often leads
to a large computation expense as well. An efficient new method utilizing traditional SEA volumes to coarsely model a facility is presented. Sources are derived from general SPL measurements taken around the facility, along with general equipment layouts. Finer details can then be added by
converting areas of interest into detailed spatial-gradient SEA volumes without significant increases in computational complexity.
