Preliminary sound walks alongside a planned metro infrastructure
The paper presents an experimental campaign carried out through a series of sound walks. Such measurements were performed to characterise the soundscape of the area where a future portion of a metro or tram line is going to be built. The sound walks aimed to acquire the data useful
to carry out a comparison between the ante opera situation and the post opera situation, thus predicting the perceived impact of the project. The post opera simulations were executed through an auralization of the prevalent sounds acquired on the field with the impulse responses computed through
the use of a ray tracing software.
