Far-field sound measurements and LES analysis are carried out in order to clarify the relationship between the effect of turbulent inflow on the flow around the airfoil tip and the aerodynamic sound generated radiated from the flow. Wind tunnel test is carried out for flow of Reynolds number of 1.0×10^5 and large eddy simulation is performed for flow of Reynolds number of 1.2×10^5. In this study, the case with a circular cylinder upstream of the airfoil to give von Karman vortex street as an inflow turbulence is investigated. Moreover, the airfoil tip flow affected by turbulent inflow and aerodynamic sound generated from it are investigated.
