For the purpose of enhancing vibration and sound reduction performance in real equipment, this paper focus on the wave attenuation performance of periodic lattice made up of solid materials. The unique property allowing and blocking wave propagation is compared to that of two-dimensional case which assumed to have infinite extension towards the out-ofplane direction. To eliminate the restrictions of plane analysis, three-dimensional numerical model based on wave expansion functions combined with finite discretization technique is established to obtain solutions in the frequency domain via k(ω) approach. On account of calculations of Bloch wave vectors, the characteristics of evanescent behavior occurring at specific frequency bands can be intuitively observed and well studied.
