Research on controllability and observability of a damped plate's complex modes
This paper presents the controllability and observability of the complex modes of a damped plate. The complex modes of the plate are caused by the spatially inhomogeneous distribution of damping. . The index of controllability and observability is obtained by deriving the classical
eigenvector test in control theory. In order to study the difference between complex mode and real mode in controllability and observability, MPD mode complexity index is introduced. The relation between mode complexity and controllability and observability is shown by comparing these two
indexes.
