Single Aircraft Pass-By: Modelling Relevant Noise at Ground
As of today, aircraft noise software / methods as AEDT (US) or CNOSSOS (EU) are modelling single aircraft pass-by using flight-path segmentation. Accurate modelling of single aircraft pass-by could be very useful when optimizing routes around airports or when detecting unusual situations:
modelling flight path over the segmentation hypothesis could help. This paper presents the results of a statistical validation survey of a method based on the continuous movement of the aircrafts instead of segments. The results presented are focusing Boeing B738 and Airbus A320 aircrafts
movements around the airport of Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL / EBCI). Results are very promising, while more research on the effect of atmospheric conditions on sound propagation have still to be done.
