Subjective Evaluation for Harshness Sounds
In order to investigate how the harshness sound is evaluated, we conducted a subjective evaluation experiment and confirmed the correlation between the subjective impression and the physical measures. The sound we used is about 1 second generated when the front wheels and the rear wheels
of a four wheeled vehicle overcome a step. Although the "magnitude of sound" is thought to affect the preference of the harshness sound, even if the average sound pressure level was equalized, the subjective evaluation did not become the same value. Therefore, subjective evaluation
experiment revealed that the subjective impression of the "magnitude of sound" of the harshness sound is not due only to the average sound pressure level.
