This is the fourteenth of fifteen parts that present illustrations of noise control principles and practices. The illustrations in this article appeared first in a book published in Sweden by the Swedish Work Environment Fund. It is illustrated that sound through connections must be
blocked, the transmission loss of a single wall can be estimated from its surface weight and that a single wall provides poor sound insulation around a certain frequency.
