Free Content The cost of silence: A survey of individual value judgments of specific noise control measures

The objective here is to report on a pilot study concerning people's valuation of different kinds of noise pollution. In this study, two kinds of noise pollution are analyzed: (i) ordinary traffic noise in a large town and (ii) indoor noise, such as that from neighbors' stereos or the noise of ventilation in houses.
