Free Content Noise control: Principles and practices - Part 7

This is the seventh of fifteen parts that present illustrations of noise control principles and practices. The illustrations in this article appeared first in a book published in Sweden by the Swedish Work Environment Fund. Illustrations are presented to show that low frequency jet noise is easier to reduce if converted to high frequency, fans make less noise if placed in smooth undisturbed flow streams and rapid pressure changes produce noise.
