The INCE subject classification are presented, along with the justification for classifying subjects and the method behind the classifications. Classification, according to the dictionary definition, is the arrangement of things in classes according to the characteristics they have
in common. In this article, we are interested in the many different subjects encountered in the field of noise control engineering.
