The estimation of noise levels in residual areas surrounding an operating wind farm
A method has been developed for the estimation of residual noise level at residential locations around an operating wind farm. The residual noise level is obtained by subtracting the wind farm noise contribution from measured ambient noise levels. The noise contribution of each wind
turbine at the receiver location is calculated using a noise propagation model and electrical power data. This method may help the researcher the ability to determine compliance of the plant noise with Italian regulations on noise pollution.
