
Localization of correlated moving sources from numerical flyover scenarios
The noise emissions during flyover test can be analyzed with a phased microphone array placed on the ground. If the flight path is known, an acoustic imaging technique is then used to map the sound pressure over the fuselage, in order to locate the most emergent aeroacoustic sources.
Most of the dedicated array techniques assume a spatial distribution of uncorrelated equivalent sources to be sought. This paper deals with the localization of correlated moving sources, and demonstrates the effectiveness of an uncorrelated-based deconvolution technique for this purpose. The
technique is applied on synthetic data from three different numerical scenarios, including a simplistic configuration of an overflying aircraft, which involve a small number of sparse, correlated monopoles in motion.
