No single individual has been more important to the formation, direction, and continuing work of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE/USA) than Dr. George Maling. Not only has he significantly shaped the trajectory of INCE-USA, but he contributed greatly to the field of acoustics and noise control. This paper will provide a concise overview of Dr. Maling's research contributions and numerous publications. Specifically, his contributions on modeling acoustic sources, characterization of air moving devices, and reverberation room simulation and measurements will be reviewed.
