Considering Electric Measurements for NVH - Voltage, Current, and Torque Ripple
The study of electronics, motors and mechanical noise and vibration have often been treated as separate fields in R&D, Production, and test/validation. In electric powertrains, the electric and mechanical must be designed and tested in parallel to really understand the machine operation.
This paper will highlight an existing link between the electrical and mechanical noise in electric powertrains and what measurement/analysis tools are available for performing an NVH analysis including electrical measurements.
