Validation studies of a homogenized ribbed-panel model in an SEA context
Recently a homogenized ribbed-panel model was proposed to predict the vibro-acoustic behavior of a rib-stiffened panel. This model homogenizes the structure of the ribbed panel so that a periodic unit cell made of FE elements can be used to compute SEA parameters for inclusion in an
SEA analysis. In this paper, the ribbed-panel model will be demonstrated and validated against detailed FE representations of the ribbed panel. The ribbed-panel construction chosen for analysis is typical of an aircraft sidewall and is an appropriate and industrial case study. The model will
be subjected to structural point loads and acoustic pressure excitations. Both structural and acoustic transmission are studied.
