
Simulation of perforations using distance-based linearized navier-stokes-fourier
MPP absorbers are used in many applications including auditoria, barriers, and mufflers. Sound is absorbed due to viscous friction in the small perforations. The 2D FEM method is used to model small tubes in Actran. The objective of this work is to model different perforation geometries,
hole diameters and the perforation rates to better understand how the shape and rate of the perforation affect the MPP properties. In addition, we are also performing this work to better understand and evaluate small channel modeling capabilities in Actran.
