A Study on Subband ANC System Considering Masking for Reducing Speech Signal
In this paper, we examine the effectiveness of subband ANC system for reducing speech signal and masking system. In public places, silent spaces should be created and sound privacy should be also protected. Based on such viewpoints, various researches have been already conducted, especially,
speech signal in public places has various problems. One of the solutions is to use active noise control (ANC) for reducing unwanted speech signal and protecting speech privacy. However, as speech signal has non- stationary and colored feature, the ordinary ANC system cannot achieve enough
reduction for speech signal. In this case, reduced speech signal can be perceived with other people even if the sound level is reduced. In this paper, we compare the reduction performance of a sub-band ANC system with automatic tap length adjustment to an ordinary ANC system using masking.
