Due to advantages of intensive utilization of land resources and high-profits, over-track buildings on metro depot has been increasingly favored in the urban functional area construction in China in recent years. However, due to the special location of over track buildings, annoying noise and vibrations are the most complained issues by occupants, especially the low-frequency structural borne noise induced by subway operation and maintenance. This study takes a metro depot in Guangzhou as an example, and based on field tests, using FEM simulations and empirical formula, the structure borne noise inside the over-track buildings was analyzed both on Parking Depot induced by subway operation and on Maintenance Depot by bridge cranes. Results showed that the structure borne noise induced by bridge crane in Maintenance Depot could be higher than subway operation in some cases, especially when the bridge crane move with a high speed. And the buildings before decoration may suffer unacceptable structure borne noise according to Chinese standards. For better living or working environment, it is necessary that the new over-track buildings are carefully designed to avoid annoying structure borne noise, and reasonable arranged non-structural components may help to lower excessive structural vibration and indoor noise.
