The acoustic efficiency of noise reduction means in production facilities is largely determined by the accuracy of information about the energy parameters of noise. The choice of the method of their calculation depends on characteristics of sound energy emission by sound sources. In industrial premises, the operating process equipment in most cases creates noise with temporally varying sound pressure levels. Intermittent noises, especially impulsive noises, have a negative impact on human health. The calculation of non-constant noise is a more complex task than the calculation of time-constant noise. When assessing its impact on the human body, in addition to determining time-averaged noise levels, it is also necessary to have information about the maximum and minimum levels, their relationships with background noise, information about noise doses and other energy and time characteristics. The paper proposes a method for calculating non-steady noise using the room response function to pulsed excitation. The method allows with sufficient accuracy for practical application to determine the noise parameters at calculated points of a room under the action of a source with any temporal characteristics, including the case of steady noise radiation.
