The effect of binaural recording devices on speech intelligibility evaluation in rooms
In the paper, a professional artificial head with binaural microphones in the ear and one with inexpensive In-Ear binaural microphones were used to record binaural room impulse responses to evaluate speech intelligibility under different test conditions in two rooms with different reverberation
time. The results showed that that the speech intelligibility scores obtained from two different types of binaural microphones under different reverberation time, noise azimuth and signal-to-noise ratio conditions were consistent. This can provide an alternative and economic way by using common
In-Ear binaural microphones with flat frequency response to achieve professional recording effect for speech communication.
