Noise Control of Installed Robotic Arms
A series of robotic arms were installed on a 3rd floor slab. Soon after they were installed and started to be set up for calibration, their movements generated excess noise for a tenant below. Isolation of the base of the arms was not feasible or practical, so other forms of noise control
were considered. We will review various noise control upgrades for these systems. The noise control included adding significant weight to the hollow pedestals that supported the arms, changing the speed of the arms, and architectural upgrades.

The Noise-Con conference proceedings are sponsored by INCE/USA and the Inter-Noise proceedings by I-INCE. NOVEM (Noise and Vibration Emerging Methods) conference proceedings are included. All NoiseCon Proceedings one year or older are free to download. InterNoise proceedings from outside the USA older than 10 years are free to download. Others are free to INCE/USA members and member societies of I-INCE.
