Design Optimization of Multilayer Materials Based on the Acoustic Characteristic Indicators
Most of the automotive sound packages are multilayer material designs, which the main performance is its sound absorption and insulation performance, and normally the acoustic indicators put forward by the OEMs are the sound absorption index and sound insulation index. It is a challenge
to suppliers that how to design the sound package materials which meet the requirements of the OEMs and simultaneously take into account the product weight and cost requirements. Since it is a reverse design problem, it is necessary to use optimization technology to rapidly achieve the reasonable
design. In this paper, we will take the advanced multilayer material simulation tool NOVA as the core solver, and use the optimization algorithm to quickly design the multilayer material configuration to best match the acoustic indicators. Finally, a practical application case is used to fully
prove the reasonability of the adopted optimization algorithm.
