Free Content Active Noise Control Strategy for Road Traffic Noise Energy Penetrating Windows in High-Rise Buildings using a Vibration Active Control Device

Based on an experimental investigation of road traffic noise by using acoustical sensors and a vibration sensor set on a glass pane of windows in high-rise buildings, which has published in Inter-Noise 2015, the authors extensively study relationship between the sound insulation level TL of windows, doors, or walls and other parameters, to decrease road traffic noise level behind the windows in the researched room. To realize the noise control, a vibration active control device set on the glass pane is suggested to change the way of noise energy transfer, from original direction perpendicular to glass face to new direction parallel to the glass. Finally, the noise mitigation effectiveness is theoretically calculated under different changing efficiency.
