Analysis and Comparison of Airport Noise Metrics
The diversity of aircraft noise evaluation method reflects the complexity of airport noise problem. The weighted equivalent continuous perceived noise level (LWECPN) is used in our country, and the day-night average sound level (Ldn) is widely used internationally. The equivalent sound
level (Leq) is used as a indoor noise metric in China, which is difficult to compare with the weighted equivalent continuous perceived noise level. In order to solve the standard problem of noise control in airport noise impact area, the connotations of the above three are analyzed. The relationships
between LWECPN and the other two metrics were analyzed by the measured data, It was proved that there is a 13dB between LWECPN and Ldn. The relationships between LWECPN and the corresponding daytime and nighttime equivalent sound level Leq were given. This paper further analyzes the influence
of background noise on the evaluations finally.
