Developing Evaluation Model of Tire Pattern Impact Noise
The number of automobile is increasing recently. Therefore, this motorization is causing many noise pollutions. Because of recent road noise issues, especially the regulations of automobile tire/road noise continue to be tightened. This paper focused on impact noise among several tire/road
noise sources, and aimed to construct an evaluation model of it. Impact noise of tire tread block is analyzed by different pattern design Tire α and Tire β. An accelerometer is installed to each experimental tire, and sound pressure is measured by a drum test. According to the experiment,
there is a proportional relationship between sound pressure and acceleration of the tread block for two tires. Next, a model for the impact between tread block and road is constructed for each Tires to identify the maximum acceleration of the tire tread . For Tire α model, a deviation
occurred in comparison between the experimental value and calculated value. This estimates that Tire α needs to take into consideration the vibration other than the acceleration resulting from the deformation of the tread block. For Tire β model, the accuracy of constructed model
was adequate. Therefore, constructed model is a good estimation model for acceleration caused by tread block deformation.
