Free Content Analysis of a Battery Electric Vehicle Interior Mid-frequency Noise and Sound Package Optimization Based on Hybrid FE-SEA Method

Noise characteristics are different between BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) and traditional internal combustion engine vehicle. Based on the same platform, the full vehicle SEA (Statistical Energy Analysis) model of a BEV and a traditional internal combustion engine vehicle are established respectively. With PBNR (Power-Based Noise Reduction) test and drum test in the half anechoic chamber, the built full vehicle SEA model is verified for high frequency bands. The PBNR and SPL (Sound Pressure Level) values between the test and simulation are compared in the SEA model benchmark. Suitable materials are selected to optimize the packages. The improvement sound package scheme in the SEA model is then applied into a new built hybrid FE-SEA (Finite Element - Statistical Energy Analysis) model of the BEV to analyze the sound transfer path of mid frequency structural noise and find the subsystems that need to be optimized. The hybrid FE-SEA models of the subsystems are built to optimize the sound packages. By comparing the new optimized scheme with the initial scheme, not only noise reduction effect is improved, but also weight-loss is gained.
