Free Content Simulation of Acoustic Insulation of Facades Based on Existing Thermal Regulation in Chile

In many countries there is the fact that there is thermal regulation for the façades of houses, however there is no acoustic regulation for this building element. Such is the case of Chile. In this article, the results of an acoustic simulation of the official list of thermal solutions of the Ministry of Housing of Chile are presented. Specifically, results of the descriptor RA = Rw + C (dBA) were obtained; together with the values of the reduction index R (dB) for third octave bands (50-5000 Hz). The obtained results allow to quantify the impact and the feasibility of applying an acoustic regulation for façades over an existing thermal regulation.
