ISO 10302-1 under Revision - For More Practical Test Conditions to Simulate Actual Load Conditions of Air-Moving Devices
The International Standard for small fan noise measurement, ISO 10302-1:2011 is now under revision. Based on the recent technical updates on the industrial counterpart standard, ECMA-275-1:2017, the revision project has been initiated at the end of 2017 and will end no later than within
36 months. This paper shows key technical changes proposed in the early stage of revision, such as A) Re-definition of micro-fans, B) Adoption of fan's aerodynamic condition near the best efficiency point over the p-q curve (aerodynamic curve), C) Fan developed high back pressure test needs
more than 750 Pa, and D) For sound power level determination, change reference of noise test codes such as ISO 7779/ECMA-74 to basic standards, ISO 3740 series.

The Noise-Con conference proceedings are sponsored by INCE/USA and the Inter-Noise proceedings by I-INCE. NOVEM (Noise and Vibration Emerging Methods) conference proceedings are included. All NoiseCon Proceedings one year or older are free to download. InterNoise proceedings from outside the USA older than 10 years are free to download. Others are free to INCE/USA members and member societies of I-INCE.
