Survey Location Optimization of Structural Vibration Based on Select Mode
In many cases a large amount of vibration sensors are needed for measurement error control. New approaches for less sensors as well as survey location optimization are proposed endlessly, to realize the purpose of reconstructing the complete structural vibration via very few sensors.
Investigating effective independence method, a parameter named modal intensity is proposed to filter for energetic modes. This can reduce the number of modes employed in calculation for much fewer survey locations finally. It can also keep the reconstruction precise with less work. Experiments
on a cylindrical shell under water validate that the errors of this approach are about 3dB. The engineering feasibility of this approach guarantees the application on vibration survey.
