A modified Fourier solution for the Flapwise bending vibration analysis of rotating beams with elastic boundary conditions
In this study, a modified Fourier solution is development for the flapwise bending vibration of rotating Euler-Bernoulli beam with elastic boundary conditions. Four supplementary series are introduced to overcome the discontinuity of the original function and improve the convergence
and accuracy. Hamilton principle is used to derive the governing equations and boundary conditions. The natural frequencies and mode shapes are obtained by applied method. The results are validated by comparison with the results in open literatures. Then the effects of the elastic boundary,
the rotational speed and the tip mass on the natural frequencies are analyzed. And new results about the possibility of resonance due to the elastic support are presented.
