
Development of an assistive system for checking the vibration magnitude exposed to the hand-arm of workers at the worksite
While Governments require employers to regulate hand-arm vibration exposure among workers with vibration tools, it is not clear that how to check the vibration magnitude exposed to the worker at the worksite. We have no an assistive and practical system for checking the vibration magnitude
at the worksite in the world. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an assistive system to check the vibration magnitude. In this study, an assistive and simple checking system has been developed as follows; 1st Step: Developing and improving a simplified measurement device with which operators
of vibration tools can be measured vibration values easily by themselves (TVHP-001 [Deed Co.,, Japan]). 2nd Step: Building a cloud server system which enables the wireless communication of the measured values between the company managing office and the worksite. 3rd Step: Designing a user
interface and developing software for the personal device to send the measured data easily from the personal device (feature phone or smartphone) through the above-mentioned cloud server system. 4th Step: Designing a user interface and developing software for the personal device to calculate
allowable operating time by using measured value of the vibration tool received from the personal device with a laptop computer in the base station through the above-mentioned system, and then transfer the calculation result back to the personal device. Through these steps, this assessment
system gives each operator their allowable operating time at the worksite. We checked whether this assistive system worked in the deep forestry area in the country site, and this system proved to be a good assistive system to regulate the vibration exposure at the work site. The benefits of
the proposed assistive system will be present at the internoise2017 conference.
