The personal sound zone/zones are requited to be defined before one selects the means to create. If we define the personal sound zone/zones as where one wants to hear the desired sound, then we have to select the means that can create the desired sound or sound field. The sound field that one wants to create can be varied depending on where and when. The objectives are changing, therefore we need a means that can cope with this varying requirement. This problem statements can be tackled by bringing the least possible, simplest, fundamental basis functions that can create radiating sound in space and time: making virtual sound sources in space and time as many as we want. Once we have this tool, the desired sound field or what he/she wants to hear can be created by editing the distribution of virtual sound sources. Several interesting applications are introduced. Starting with one virtual sound source case, we demonstrate how we can move it in 3D space and its effect on listener. One possible application is to have a private listening without having earphone. Next is to use two virtual sound sources in space, and time. Conventional stereo sound system is one of extreme cases of this kind. Several virtual sound source system will also be demonstrated, and the effects of spatial hearing will be demonstrated.
