Airtightness is a major characteristic as it influences acoustic and thermal insulation of building. In general airtightness has a negative impact, for thermal it leads to more energy consumption and for acoustics it weaken sound transmission loss. In this article authors present results of PermeaCOB project aiming at measuring airtightness of different wooden building systems at different age of use. Airtightness is predicted for facade and for whole dwelling. To predict acoustic effect of different airtightness, authors present an experimental campaign on a framed facade including a window. Different quality of airtightness are measured on the same construction varying joints efficiency of the window and creating leaks in the membrane of the wall. Authors present models for leaks and show how airtightness influences acoustic facades insulation.
