In modern naval military weapon systems, probability of detection is important factor in survivability and the Radar Cross Section(RCS) is a major parameter. In this paper, the Radar Absorbing Material(RAM) method, which can be applied after the hull form design, is carried out for the general frequency range for naval warfare. The wide-band metamaterial is selected for the RAM method. The wide-band metamaterial is artificially synthesized periodic structures with lattice constant that is much smaller than the wavelength of the incident electromagnetic and the electromagnetic resonance is mainly determined by the geometry structure. The electromagnetic absorptions and reflections of the wide-band metamaterial have been simulated to explore the performance. Also, the wide-band metamaterial is virtually attached to the advanced naval ship and compared with the traditional absorber in terms of RCS mean values. These results indicate that the wide-band metamaterial could be attached after hull form design and increase the survivability of an advanced naval ship.
