DELTA has in two projects carried out calculations of the noise contribution from a large number of noise sources at a large number of dwellings. In one project we have calculated the noise contribution from all the wind turbines in Denmark hour by hour through 32 years. In another project we have calculated the noise contribution from all significant roads in Denmark for 135,000 dwellings - each year from 1970 to 2015. In both projects we used Nord2000, which is an advanced noise propagation model. Among numerous features Nord2000 can calculate the effects of weather conditions. The results are to be used to assess the possible harmful effects against the exposure of external noise. The many registers in Denmark on hospitalizations, illnesses and medication use combined with extensive records relating to housing, wind and road traffic enable calculations of noise back to 1970.The presentation describes how the calculation of noise from wind turbines in practice was carried out, how the wind turbines and dwellings were selected and how the wind turbine sound power level was estimated for the wind turbines, where there was no available noise data.
