The Ottawa forum was a follow-up to the 2008 June workshop on the design of low-noise vehicles for air, road, and rail transportation that was held at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, Southampton, U.K. in June, 2008. The report from that forum was published in the 2010 March issue of this magazine. This forum considered non-vehicular noise sources that present worldwide problems and will assess the state of noise control technology today. Noise emission goals for the future that will support sustainable development are recommended.", }
