The use of rigorous test protocols, careful selection of subjects, appropriate selection of sensory attributes, sophisticated univariate and multivariate statistical techniques all define effective sensory practices. Current sensory evaluation methods and practices are described with examples of practical application to sound quality. Examples of recent research that applies sensory strategy to measuring sound quality are provided. Further recommendations are made to encourage the use of these validated techniques in the measurement of descriptive, hedonic and quality measures for sounds.", }
