Such modifications as chirped lattices, arbitrary defects, and supercells, are explored. We analyze widening of stop-bands associated with the introduction of these structural changes and how they affect the corresponding noise mitigation properties. Utilizing numerical calculations we find optimal parameters of the considered structures and study the dependence of transmission coefficient on various geometric parameters of the system. As a main result, we demonstrate the merging of several stop-bands leading to ultra-broadband noise mitigation. The achieved enhancement is linked to the properties of the equivalent infinite structures and their eigenmodes.", }
