In general, tyre noise level varies depending on the road surface and it is known that even on road surfaces that satisfy ISO10844 (Specification of test tracks for measuring sound emitted by road vehicles and their tyres), coasting tyre rolling sound fluctuates by a few decibels. For that reason, the measurement uncertainty of tyre noise due to the difference in road surfaces has become unignorable. For further reduction of road traffic noise, it is necessary to understand the relationship between basic physical characteristics related to road surfaces and tyre noise that contribute to measurement uncertainty. In this study, we constructed several road surfaces with different construction methods within the range of ISO10844 and investigated the relationship between them. In this report, we show the results of our efforts, including knowledge that is not standardized by ISO10844.", }
