This can be a particular concern to nearby facilities that are sensitive to noise and vibration (healthcare, laboratory, museum, data centers, etc.). Managing the impact on neighboring facilities can become a challenging issue associated with the project. In this paper we will discuss the use of construction simulation to predict potential impact and real time monitoring to keep tabs on the construction while it is underway. We will present examples where vibration monitoring and testing, in conjunction with planning and administrative controls, have been shown to be effective in enabling construction to move forward, even with vibration sensitive operations nearby.", }
