These facilities are quiet as compared with other energy generating facilities including wind farms and especially coal or gas fired power plants. Yet they still produce sound which could be mildly bothersome to an abutter. One of the challenging noise requirements is avoidance of tonal sound. In Massachusetts, there is a guideline which prevents "Pure Tone" sounds which may be a challenge with some solar energy facilities. This paper will highlight the sources of sound at these facilities, potential problem areas and noise control treatment options.", }
