W., Herrin", abstract = "Panels with interconnected honeycomb cells have been developed and shown to be effective sound absorbers. The materials have small openings on one skin which open into interconnected channels tuned for specific frequency ranges. Panels are carefully designed so that the sound absorption is broadband. It is demonstrated that the materials can be affixed inside of an enclosure and is roughly as effective as 7.5 cm thick acoustic fiber. The materials are then used as duct liner and similar effectiveness is observed.", }
