In the event of non-conformity, two options are possible for the company: replace the noisy transformer with quieter but typically more expensive models, or alternatively implement noise abatement treatments. In keeping the noisier transformer, strategies must be put in place to (a) minimize treatment costs, and (b) prevent long periods of transformer cessation during the installation of treatments. This second element greatly limits the options for treatments; walls or permanent structures requires heavy equipment, preparatory work (foundations, etc.), at a significant cost. An innovative solution using the installation of acoustical blankets and magnetic mounting bracket have been recently developed for transformer noise reduction. This paper presents the methodology for modeling, designing, and installing these acoustical blankets on industrial transformers. It is demonstrated through two case studies that this solution is faster (", }
