It raises the question of guaranteeing affordable, noise-protected and sustainable urban future. Three of the most common urban development processes (sprawl, shrinking and sustainable development) are analyzed from the environmental noise perspective. The possible options for noise avoidance and reduction potential are discussed, their value and cost are estimated. Cross-disciplinary planning, open innovation, smart participation and alternative funding of noise reduction methods are integrated and visualized within a model. Their tenable choosing and implementation monitoring are proposed and shown in a sub-model and time-graphics. Integrated planning, smart society and alternative funding (PPP, cross and crowdfunding, NGOs) are included as key actors in the model of noise relevant planning and management for vibrant and livable settlements in line with the goals of the Environmental Noise Directive and UN Agenda 2030.", }
