The belt is modeled with a cylindrical shell with elastic foundation on the belt edge, which represent the sidewall stiffness. The modal characteristics, including the modal shape and natural frequencies are obtained analytically. It can be found that only few modes are coupled the acoustic modes. Based on this mechanism, an acoustic absorption foam is designed and implemented for a passenger car tyre. The result will be presented.", }
